is there anything in the labor law stopping a supervisor from harassing a employee

Yes. Unlawful harassment, that is harassment based upon any of the 14 protected status catagories, is unlawful. If a supervisor engages in such conduct a claim against the company and the supervisor is appropriate. If the employer has a complaint procedure, it should be followed. If the harassment is based upon race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, veteran status, sexual orientation or medical condition, you should talk to an expierenced labor attorney for advice as to how to handle your claim. Need more info. State and federal laws protect employees from harrassment of various types such as age, gender, sexual, religious, political, ethnic and race and from retaliation based on whistle blowing, etc., etc.
