Does the employer have the right to

reduce the employees benefits (we used

to have medical, dental and vision now

we just have medical) just because

they don't want to pay anymore for the

extra?

Yes. On appropriate notice of cancellation. If you aren't willing to work without the benefits, you'll have to find another job.
