Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I hired a worker who it turned out is in the country illegally. Now he claims he has pain in his wrist and is demanding that I pay for him to have an MRI and therapy. What options do I have? I do not have workman's comp insurance.

Legal or not, full time or not, an employee is entitled to payment of his on job injuries, either through required WCAB insurance, or by the employer directly out of his pocket. You need to retain an attorney to fully resolve this properly in compliance with WCAB rules. Otherwise he can sue you if waivers and releases are not done correctly. If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal, feel free to contact me..
