Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Hostile Work Enviroment
My husband has been putting up with a lot of threatening behavior from his Manager for years. But now it has escalated. The Manager has made many threats. Not just to my husband. He's mentioned having a gun in his car, he's said he wanted to slash up the CEO's office with a knife, he called my husband a SOB in front of the HR and on Friday he spoke up everyone thinking he's going to go postal. My husband almost threw up on Friday after hearing that. I told him to stay home because I was afraid for his safety. The HR has already warned him about this. What can we do? I don't want my husband to suffer further.

He can quit or take a leave, he can file a police report if he is threatened, he should be demanding the company remedy the situation. If they refuse, or retaliate against him, he could sue the company.

Have me write a letter to the company. The company will hopefully not want to take the risk of this person going postal, and will get rid of him. If they refuse, you might have a lawsuit against the company. Please contact my office for details.
