Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am an independent contractor working for a TV commercial production company. The company paid labor late violating CA labor laws. I am being named as a defendant in class action law suit even though I have no affiliation with the prod. company. I don't have money to hire a lawyer to defend against accusations that i am a principal (lawyers asking 25k retainer...i have less than 15k left in my bank account). How can I defend myself against wrongful accusations when i cant afford the retainer entertainment labor lawyers are asking?

IF you can clearly and credibly show proof you are not associated with the company in mgmt, and are not responsible for the alleged conduct, an attorney MAY be able to get you dismissed from the case without having to spend a lot of money in fees. If you are wiling to consider trying this, feel free to contact me.
