Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Insufficient check

My employer wrote out a check to me and it ended up bouncing in my account. It has now made my bank account negative since I had wrote out a few checks. What is my employer responsible for? If I were to take my employer to court if they do not make the check good what is the amount that my employer will have to pay me? The check that bounced was 1875.00, I have heard in tha past that if you must go to court it can cost them up to 3 times the original check amount.

Re: Insufficient check

If they don't promptly make good on it, you can sue or file a claim with the Labor Commissioner, seeking penalties, interest, etc. They should pay your expenses of NSF charges, etc. I doubt you will need an attorney, but if you do, feel free to contact me for help.
