Legal Question in Employment Law in California

New Job

In December 2004 I interviewed with a company for a new job. I accepted the postion and gave my employer of over 9 years three weeks notice. I was to start work on January 31, 2005. I started on that Monday and everything went fine. On Tuesday Febuary 1, 2005 I was called into the office and told the firm would be closing the division and moving out of state. I was also told they had know about this for three weeks. I had to walk out and pray that my previous employer will hire me back. I am almost sure they will. I did leave on very good terms. Having known that this plant was closing is it legal for them to do this to me. I did receive a valid written job offer from them. Of course it doesn't state anything about the move. Do I have any legal recourse.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Re: New Job

If you don't get your old job back, and thus lose money, you will have grounds to bring a claim against the new company. If that happens, contact me to discuss your rights and remedies.
