Legal Question in Employment Law in California
labor dispute
Hi,
I am having a problem collecting my commission from a former employer. I have alot of incriminating information on this employer, and I am wondering if I should threaten to use it against them in order to collect what is owed to me.

No, you would be committing the crime of blackmail. If you have a valid claim go about it the correct way and either sue them in court or file a claim with the California Labor Commissioner.

Sure, go ahead, as long as you don't mind being charged with the crime of extortion. If you actually have money due you, file a claim with the Labor Commissioner and don't act like a character in a bad TV drama.
