Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is it legal for my boss to question me about where I am moving to and express concern about my commute when I don't have an attendance problem? In addition, during the conversation I became very upset and wanted to leave and he advised me to sit back. I got the feeling that if I stepped out to go to the restroom to calm down that I would be terminated.

Legal? Of course. The company's concern is your reliability as an employee. In general, unless you are civil service, in a union or have a written employment contract, you are an 'at will' employee that can be disciplined or fired any time for any reason, other than illegal discrimination under the Civil Rights, or Whistle-blower, or similar statutes. Your goal should be to keep your employer happy with you.
