Is it legal for an employer in California to cancel health insurance without notice? I was laid off April 6 and found out a week later that insurance was cancelled March 31

At termination other than for misconduct, companies are required to provide you a 30 day period during which you can 'convert' your company insurance to private by you paying the premium. You still may have time, so contact the company immediately to correct the situation. .
