Legal Question in Employment Law in California

liable for damages

If someone is employed by a

towing company and damages

occur to the vehicle being towed is

it legal for the employer to deduct

the costs of repair from the

employees pay check, with or

without agreement/permission?

There should be some sort of

insurance for employers that cover

these things, right?

Re: liable for damages

Accidents and negligence are not deductible from employees pay. Intentional and gross negligent conduct, violation or safety rules, could be. File a claim with the Labor Commissioner if you need to.
