Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My management position has been eliminated as a result of combining two departments. I have been given two weeks to find (apply) for another position. There are no positions available at my management level. I will have to take PTO or start over at an entry level position. Is this permitted by California Law?

You don't have a right to a job, and except for certain mass lay-offs that are subject to plant closure notice laws, you have no right to notice that you are being laid off or fired.

California law does indeed allow this type of action by an employer.
