My manager at work recently bought a web cam for his lap top computer.(Which he takes home) Is it legal for him to take and record video of myself and co-workers at work?

Courts have permitted employers to video record most open or common work areas, especially when employees know they are likely being recorded. The issue becomes a little more tricky if a manager secretly records employees in private offices or areas where they can claim a reasonable expectation of privacy. Each case is fact specific; no one rule applies to every situation.

You have no right of privacy at work except in bathrooms and such. They can video or record the phone. They should publish notice of the policy, but don't have to.
