Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Medication at work.
My husband is diabetic; at work he had an insulin attack (low blood sugar).
He was unable to tell anyone what was the matter. They called 911 but one of the
Company employees went to his truck and got his medical bag and drew up 15 unit
Of insulin and gave it to him. The problem is he was already too low.
It now seems they are harassing him a bit knowing what they did was wrong by giving
Him medication. We think because of his medical problems they are looking for reasons
to get rid of him.
He has worked for them for 18 months. If he should get fired do we has a case?

Re: Medication at work.
If he has a medical disability, and if he requests reasonable accommodation, and if he can do his job with accommodation, and if they fire him anyway, then you should talk to an attorney to see if you can prove violation of the law on the facts at the time. The harassment is also something to discuss with an attorney now, to see if he can get it stopped by advising the company of its error, or to take action if it really is serious and in violation of the law.
Someone giving him insulin raises issues of mediacl propriety - was the person a doctor?? If he was harmed by the injection, there may be grounds for action. Lots more info would be necessary to determine what action if any to take.
