Mileage reimbursement

I am an employee and in sales. My company pays for mileage but if we got to an appt and the potential client does not show up, they won't pay our mileage reimbursement. Even if the client confirms the appt and then does not show, we don't get mileage paid. This does not seem fair. I am incurring a business expense in mileage and I am on a salary plus commission. Is their policy correct?

You can bring a claim for unpaid compensation to the Labor Commissioner, to see if they think there is a violation. It sounds like it. Feel free to contact me if you decide you need legal help in the process if they set hearings and trial on the matter.
