Legal Question in Employment Law in California
misdemeanor crime/working for a care facility
In 1992 I was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting. Recently I applied for employment with an adult residential facility and had to have a live scan performed. I'm afraid that I will not be hired because of my past. I was never in trouble before or after this crime. Can you please give my some information?

Whether they hire you or not is up to them, based upon their rules and the laws.
For future use, you can try to get your conviction expunged by a motion and petition to the court, IF you completed all terms of your probation and haven't been convicted since. Feel free to contact if you want legal help doing so.
