misdemeanor question on employment application

If conviction(s) were over 17 years ago, must I still answer yes I was convicted of a misdemeanor of a non-minor traffic violation?

Records are forever. If you withhold and lie on the application, then when they find it [and they will in a record check], you'll likely be fired for resume fraud, lying on application.

You might consider getting the conviction expunged, meaning changed to show dismissal through a motion to the court, so you can say 'no' to conviction on most employment applications. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
