Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Noncompete Agreements
I signed up with a temp agency last year, and part of the contract was a ''noncompete'' clause stating that, if I wanted to work for any of the companies they place me with, I have to wait 6 months from my last day of work. I read that noncompete agreements are not legal in California. Does what I sign count as a noncompete agreement? Or is it legal?

Re: Noncompete Agreements
"Legal?" Wrong question.
Enforceable? Maybe, if reasonable in its terms. Consult with local counsel to review all the facts and documents to get an informed opinion rather than a guess.
