Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Without notice my employer told me they would be closed for a week and I would not be compensated for that time. I actually had to ask 2 days before we were going to be closed. I am a salary employee in california. Is this legal?

Yes. Hopefully for your sake, your employer will be able to stay in business with such accommodations by employees.
