Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was notified on Monday that I had been terminated on the previous Friday. Is that legal. The reason I ask has to do with COBRA insurance

You are likely an at will employee that can be terminated any time. COBRA rules require you be provided 30 day right to conversion of insurance.
