Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Overpayment of wages

I ended my employment relationship with a company and got paid all outstanding wages and benefits in a timely fashion.

However, the company continuees to pay my salary as if I never left! Can I keep this extra ''benefit'' or do they have a legal right to seek reimbursment if this turns out to be a misstake in their accounting?

I can envision the mess this will create with insurance companies, taxes, pension etc., if I have to pay back the ''extra'' wages and roll back the accounting. I really don't want to suffer from other peoples misstakes!

Re: Overpayment of wages

If you don't give it back immediately, you could end up sued or arrested for fraud, etc.

Call the company immediately, and make arrangements to repay the money as quickly as possible.
