overtime pay

well i work for a home health agency. I work 40 mon-fri. well last friday they called me to work 2 four hour shifts, on sat & sun. our work week is from sunday to saturday. Well these hours take me into overtime with my company. they say they dont have to pay overtime. and that they can work me as much as they want, but no overtime. i am hired as a Certified Home Health Aide. i have worked with 2 other companies and they paid over-time. This comapny is a nation wide company based out of maryland. what are my rights in this? what makes them so specail they dont have to pay overtime? please help me im lost and very confused

You may be entitled to overtime, but if the company has already refused to pay you, the remaining option is to file a claim with the Labor Commissioner.
