Legal Question in Employment Law in California

not paid money due

I worked as an independent contractor and have not been paid in full. it has been 5 month and he is not returning my calls. Labor board was no help. His contractors license was suspened do to lack of bond, and I think he has filed bankpuptcy. What are my chances in small claims court or do I have other options.

His bankruptcy means you no longer would have the right to sue. File your Claim in his BK and hope for the best.
