Legal Question in Employment Law in California

paid travel time to job site

I have painter employees who are required to driver their vehicles to our office complex, pick up a work truck and go to job site. They must return the truck after their eight hours are up to the office complex. Do I need to pay them for travel time?

You need to pay them for travel between the office and their job assignments but not to and from home.

If you are saying that you've not been paying for the time in transit with the company truck, then you've probably got some money due the employees for OT. They don't get paid from home to company, but do get paid from company to jobsite and back.
