Part time employee callin in sick often

I work in a private Optometry office and on a regular day we have 3 staff persons working and 1 doctor. There is a part time employee who calls in sick very often and only works one day a week, Saturday. Can this employee be talked to, written up or even fired for missing work as often as she does?

Such an 'at will' employee in California can be fired any time for any reason, with or without cause, or disciplined as desired.
