Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I am a part-time employee for a small construction firm, just curious does the employer have the right to yell and scream to get his point across or make you feel like an idiot when you don't see his point? Do I have to sit and listen to him scream and be rude to customer and other workers including his wife whom is part of the staff? The work enviroment has become very hostile and I can't stop myself by yelling back when he becomes overbearing. Need some advice.

Unfortunately, there's no law against a boss being boorish. Short of filing a worker's compensation claim for emotional distress, either grin and bear it, or start looking for a more satisfying place of work.
Mr. Cohen is correct. There is no protection from rude jerks in the workplace unless they cross the line from harassing everyone for everything, to harassing a person in a protected class (race, gender, etc.) on that basis.
Definitely: find a new job. If harassment were 'illegal', there would be millions of lawsuits over it. It isn't and there aren't.
