If you believe you were discriminated against due to race, you need to be able to articulate the specific reasons why you reached this conclusion to a lawyer or to the California Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing or the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission. Be prepared to provide examples of how race played a part in the favoritism at work, the dates of the complaints, what you complained about, whether there was an investigation, and the names of witnesses who may be able to support you.
The starting point for this is, there no laws against 'unfair treatment' or poor management, and the employer is in general entitled to set and change hours, duties, requirements, etc. HOWEVER, if the conduct you allege can be shown to be discrimination, harassment or retaliation because of your 'race' and minority status, as defined under the Civil Rights statutes, then it was illegal and actionable. If so, feel free to contact me for the legal help youll need.
