Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Do One To Others , payback Eviction and Unpaid Wages , Homeless for the New Year
This is one of those 'where do I begin' scenario's...so I'll cut right to the chase...I have been threatened with immediate eviction w/o any compensation after spending 1 year on an elder care case.live-in home support etal.
My job...wearing just about every hat possible in attempt to arrange for clients safe return home from SNF...single handedly succeeded...at much cost to my own life and, in return, was promised a place to call home as long as necessary (unless property was sold) and a personal long-term loan in lieu of weekly salary.
I was informed today that I will be evicted on Wednesday, Jan 7th. I have not been served any papers whatsoever.
My Question(s)...
- Can 'They' evict me w/o Any Notice...w/o serving me and w/o any evidence of wrong doing?? by 'They' I mean Anyone...Mother, Son, APS etc...
I do have a notarized letter of agreement ...signed by both mother and son. Letter states that I was to receive room/bd for as long as needed as well as a long-term personal loan in lieu of weekly salary.
- What method of recourse is available re: getting them to pay me promised compensation?
Yours with love, light and laughter

IF you get an attorney quickly, you may be able to convince them not to file Unlawful Detainer action needed to evict you. The goal should be to negotiate an acceptable outcome on the living arrangements [which will probably require you leave their property] and finacial promises. You can always sue on the agreement, but would be better off working it out than investing a ton of money in a lawuit. Your lawyer's letterhead will carry some 'clout' in presenting your right to bring such suit. Contact me if interested.
