Legal Question in Employment Law in California

My paydays are the 16th & 1st of each month. I have yet to receive my paycheck that was payable on the 1st for pay period 12-16-12.31. Is that illegal & what can I do? The really funny part is I work for a law firm!!!!!

You can go to the State labor board and file a complaint. You might be entitled to waiting time penalties as well.

Any claim of unpaid compensation can be brought at the Labor Commissioner office local to you. Call and talk to them about what they are willing to do for you. Generally, a call from them to the employer will remedy the problem. You must assume the employer is having money trouble, and you might consider looking for a new job.
