if my position at work is eliminated, and I refuse another position with the company at a lower wage and/or work I'm not suited for, am I eligible for unemployment ? (California)

It is a gray area, determined by the facts, the % pay decrease, etc. You can apply with explanation, and if denied, file an appeal and try to convince a judge.
