Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Hi, Im having a problem with my office manager. She has repeatedly sent horrible texted messages to my cell phone and other employees about certain employees, not to mention the harsh texts about myself and much more. My question is can I start a civil suite against the office manager for slander, defemation of character, etc. I can not work around her anymore due to mental anquish and stress in fact I have given my two week notice as of yesterday.

Not only are there no laws against 'unfair treatment' or poor management, but in general, unless an employee is civil service, in a union, or has a written employment contract, they are an 'at will' employee that can be disciplined or fired any time for any reason, with or without cause, explanation or notice, unless it is based upon illegal discrimination, harassment or retaliation under the ADA disability, Civil Rights [age, race, sex, ethnic, religion, pregnancy, etc], Whistle-blower, or similar statutes. The employee's goal should be to keep the employer happy and make the company money. Thats how they pay your wages. Now if the firing was illegal under those definitions, feel free to contact me for the legal help youll need.
