Legal Question in Employment Law in California

What protection do employees of churches have? Can they pretty much let employees "go" under the "fit" no longer being there?

What protection do employees...?

None, you are an 'at will' employee there, the same as with any other employer unless you have a specific written employment contract that says otherwise. Plus, church employees have no protections under the discrimination laws.
