Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Hi. My question is as follows; what can i do if i got fired for theft, without them having proof or any kind of evidence to terminate me. My manager states "i asked around and many people pointed fingers at you''. This is unfair.

Unfortunately, you cannot sue an employer for an "unfair" termination. If you worked for a private employer and did not have a contract requiring the employer to have good cause, the law allows the employer to terminate "at will". This means it does not even have to have a reason, much less a good one. They do not have to prove anything. If they don't trust you, they can let you go.
Now, if they go around telling prospective employers that they fired you for theft, and cannot prove it, then you may have a case for slander.
As are all other California employees without a union or written contract, you are an 'at will' employee that can be fired any time for any reason - good, bad or none. Nobody said life or employment had to be 'fair'. If you can prove FALSE 'slanderous' statements are being made, you might have a claim for that.
