Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Can I receive unemplyment benefits

I wrote a e-mail stating to my boss that I might be leaving the company in 3 months. I was fired 1 week later. When I was terminated they said that my resignation was eccepted. Can I receive unemployment benifits? My planned date for leaving the company isn't for another 3 to 4 months. I wasn't even sure if I was really going to leave my job of 4 years. Please advise.

Thank you

Re: Can I receive unemplyment benefits

You have nothing to lose by applying for unemployment. The department may rule against you, but you have an appeal right, at which time you can have an attorney represent you.
