Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was recently fired from a company and I know some information that could be very damaging to them.

One is that they are running two competing Amazon stores which is a violation of Amazon's policies and subject to immediate shutdown of those stores.

These are multi-million dollar accounts that would be gone very quickly if I were to report them.

The second piece of information is this company is unlawfully and without any consent whatsoever using a television personality on some of their webpages as a means of promoting their products.

One of the reasons I was fired was due to my increasing frustration and disagreement with these shady practices. Now that I'm no longer working there, I'd like to report them to the proper people so my former employers can get what's coming to them.

I feel like it's just the right thing to do as what my former employers are doing is wrong.

However, I'm worried that I may be subject to countersuit against myself or some other legal action taken against myself if I were to inform on my former employers since there isn't much way to know that this was happening unless I worked there.

Am I subject to any sort of legal action against me? Am I in any danger if I make these reports? I don't want to take any further action if I'm going to open myself up to any sort of lawsuit or anything else filed against myself.

You can report illegal activities to proper government authorities without risk of being sued. What you describe is not 'illegal', but could get the company sued. You could make a discrete anonymous report to the interested parties to encourage their investigation.
