Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I was recently forced to transfer to another department within my company due to a personality conflict with my boss. I am trying to go to another department that fits my experience and career path and am certain he is interfering with my application for transfer by giving negative comments about my performance. What can I do to mitigate the damage to my career as I feel this is having a detrimental impact on my future earning capacity.

Meet with him and have a frank but cordial conversation about whatever the issues are. Try to reach an understanding that will allow you to work elsewhere, free of any interference from him. If that does not work or seems useless, go over his head to his manager and try to invoke assistance from above. Include the HR Dept., if necessary. Document everything.
If you do not believe any of this will work, get your resume together and look for work elsewhere. You cannot sue an employer for personality conflicts, so there would be no legal recourse here.
