Legal Question in Employment Law in California

i was recently terminated from last job,about three weeks ago,and i just recieved a call from their loss provention officer asking me about a shortage in their change fund ,and asked me to meet him tommorrow and if i refused to show that he would report me to the local police department.question is what is my right and can they do this

No, you do not have to meet with him and you do not have to speak with him. Yes, he has the right to provide the police with any evidence he may have of a crime being committed. It is up to the police to decide what to do with it. I believe most criminal attorneys (which I am not) would advise you to not meet with this person, even if you have done nothing wrong.
