Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I have represented a manufacture for 18 years as a independant contractor they recently reduced my commissions now they are charging me a higher commission when a client returns something example I was paid 10% and when the item is returned they take 12% in addition no notice was given can they do this?

It depends on the terms of your contract.

Read your contract with them, to see if they are breaching its terms. Negotiate a new contract or amendment.
