Legal Question in Employment Law in California

requirements of disclosing pregnancy while job searching

I am currently 5 months pregnant, and job searching. I wanted to find out the requirements on me, to disclose to possible employers that I am pregnant. Do I have to put it in my cover letter, tell them at the interview, or do I even have to tell them? I mean it is kind of obvious these days.

There is no requirement to tell them, however, you probably should.

No obligation to tell, and they can't legally ask or discriminate against you in hiring. However, it will soon become visible and obvious though. Most employers won't hire pregnant women, but you would have to prove that was the reason for not hiring. Don't know if there is much anyone can do for you, unless an employer is foolish enough to tell you that is the reason. If so, contact me if that happens.
