Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was given a review at work, I was given a dues date to fix something particular by January 31, 2010. They suspended me from work for not getting to it on January 13, 2010. I complained to Human resources, and I asked them to look into a seperate situation regarding management telling other employees, that they wanted to "Slap me in the face" Obviously not much can be done about that considering its not first person, I just wanted it to be addressed. I recieved a call yesterday from human resources after not hearing from them since the 15th. They called asking me questions about Sexual Harassment, because NOW all of a sudden while under suspension. I feel speaking up for myself is giving me nothing but grief and maliciousness from the company. What could I do, or who should I contact?

Unless you made a good faith sexual harassment complaint before termination, or they knew you had grounds to do so and were about to make one, you have no basis to claim 'retaliation' or 'illegal' firing. It doesn't sound like a sexual harassment incident, unless you have more than that one 'generalized' statement. If you do, then feel free to contact me to discuss your rights and remedies.
