You have a very strong case of worker's compensation case due to work-related stress and I have successfully handled many cases like yours. If the termination was due to the work-related incident, you may ask for penalty under Labor code 132(a). Feel free to call me at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.

It is not clear what you mean when you say you were fired for how you reacted. If, for example, you suffered PTSD and needed accommodation for your condition and were fired for requesting and/or taking such an accommodation, then yes, that would most likely be unlawful. If you were fired because of a disability, such as PTSD, which arose from the trauma of being held up at gunpoint in the workplace, please feel free to contact our office by email at [email protected], by filling out an online questionnaire at www.sarnofflaw.com, or by calling our office at (213) 536-4236.
