Legal Question in Employment Law in California

sexual favortism in the workplace

A friend of mine has been overlooked for a promotion because a co-worker of his is sleeping with the boss. Due to the sexual relationship, the co-worker has been promoted instead. Is there any recourse he can take against his employer and these unfair business practices?

Tell your friend to call me directly. That is discriminatory and caselaw provides him a cause of action. He must meet strict deadlines to file with the DFEH.

He has a potential claim, based upon the discrimination statutes. He needs to promptly document the facts and begin the claim filing process with the employer and government agencies [DFEH], but needs good legal advice on how to do so most effectively. Have him contact me if interested in discussing the facts and representation. This has been a specialty area of mine for many years.
