Legal Question in Employment Law in California

survellence cameras and lunch breaks

i work for a hotel and they just installed cameras in parking lot and in the office. the one in the office is audio recording and im not sure its legal. the owner, having access to all cameras is already running the place illegally. we, front desk clerks, do not get breaks or lunch in our 8 hour day. also we have to sign this form thats states, something like, in the last pay period we have recieved all our scheduled breaks...if u have not fill out the back paper. but if we do the manager will just tell us that we get paid for a full 8 hours. also these statement are not in spanish for the rest of the workers to even understand. even the posters you have to put regarding state/nation laws are even a year old. i have not complained to management or owner because i know my job is at risk, they can hire someone cheaper and more willing to work under these conditions. oh one more thing, if we stay over our 8 hours, htey will not pay us for any overtime.

You and all the employees need to file a claim with the Labor Commissioner for unpaid compensation.
