Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I was suspended w/o pay pending investigation by an Indian Casino in CA because I stopped someone to check ID in a secured area(who I later found out was on the gaming board) and she refused to cooperate along with being rude and suspicious. Three gaming officers questioned me in a hallway where other employees could hear and see this. They surrounded me and badgered me for an explanation in a very harassing and intimidating manner. Then 1 hour later showed up to walk me out of the building on suspension based on the code of conduct for guest safety officers.
I believe they were trying to cover for their department by attacking me and making it look like I was the problem and not them. What are my rights? Do I have any?

None, unless you have union protections. They could suspend or fire you for having a smudge on your shoe, or for no reason at all, so to investigate your conduct is perfectly legal.
Employees have the 'right' to pay and employee benefits per the state minimum wage and hour laws and any formal company policy that may be in place, the right to be provided a 'safe' workplace to minimize risk of injury, and sometimes are entitled by law to certain medical/pregnancy leave rights. That's about it. Not only are there no laws against 'unfair treatment' or poor management, but in general, unless an employee is civil service, in a union, or has a written employment contract, they are an 'at will' employee that can be disciplined or fired any time for any reason, with or without cause, explanation or notice.
