Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Taking on a Giant CA Company (Irvine Company)
I'm looking for someone who can help me. I think I have a case for an employment discrimination lawsuit.
I was just fired from a company in which I had a spotless record for the last 5 years for 2 recent incidents (1 which has ''some'' basis, and one which was completely bogus). The one that had ''some'' basis is the exact same incident that another employee committed and was *not* fired for.
I have been one of the top sales people, so getting fired really surprised me.
I was trying to figure out why the company would all of sudden do this and I thought of 2 reasons:
1.) A VP accidentally (in writing) approved a discount on the lease of my apartment. And if it was approved for me, it would have to be approved for all other employees, costing the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. Firing me would solve that problem.
2.) During a 4 month period when I took some time off and then was later rehired, my health insurance was not in effect. I wasn't sure if it was or not, so I inquired at the hospital and they said I was covered. Long story short, the company had me listed as covered, then went back and illegally changed my coverage date before the hospital visit and insurance didn't pay.
