Legal Question in Employment Law in California

being terminated while on approved leave through medical office and employer

i was approved for sick leave to seek assistance from

our eap program. i had finished meetings with eap and

was awaiting my release from my doctor when iI was ''

terminated for job abandonement.'' the entire perriod of

time lapsed was approximetly 1.5 months, and my

employer was notified by phone every day except for the

last three days before being terminated. IS THIS

LEGAL/// My local union rep. advised me of my being

SOL and have a nice day, sorry. they had dropped my

grievance, but thankfully I aquired a lawyer who pushed

them and they had no other choice but to re-open the

grievance. now even my lawyer seems to not want to

help the situation by asking me for insane amounts of

money I dont have. What can I do?????

1. Get your union to pursue your grievance, or;

2. Pay an attorney to do what the union is supposed to do.
