Re: Termination

You will need an attorney experienced in Employment Law. You may either contact your County Bar Association and ask for a referral to an attorney experienced in the DEFENSE of Employment Law issues, or re-ask your question by further describing the location (i.e., San Diego, Los Angeles, S.F., etc.) and size of your business (large, medium, small)(no name or description needed) and provide an "off-line" email and attorneys on this board will most likely be able to provide you several good references. If you have an general or umbrella insurance policy on the business, you should also notify your carrier(s) immediately. They may deny the claim, but they may also at least provide a defense or referral and reporting the claim is required under all policies.

If you're in the Los Angeles area, you might give me a call. I've handled both plaintiff and defense cases. I've handled false claims before, as well. If you wish, e-mail me directly to give me more information.

Re: Termination

A good one! Your claim the person is lying must be backed up with credible evidence, and a lot of other issues will come into play as well. As the employer, you must immediately get an attorney experienced in defending discrimination cases, as it is a specialized area of law. There are rules on how and what you can do to investigate and defend your company without causing more problems and increased liability. I have been a specialist in this area for over 15 years. Contact me if interested discussing the risks you face.
