Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Underpayment of wages x 8 months.
My supervisors have been aware that I have been underpaid for 8 months and now thay tell me they can't correct it until next years budget. That they cannot retroactively give me back pay. We have been called one of the most successful companies in Northern California and I have a hard time believing that they can't come up with the back pay that I should be paid.

Re: Underpayment of wages x 8 months.
IF by underpaid, you mean they haven't paid all wages due as agreed, your checks have been shorted, then you have a right to collect those amounts. If you mean they said you were worth more someday, that is not an enforceable promise.
