If my husband takes a job in a state across the country forcing me to leave mine, am I entitled to unemployment insurance?

Re: unemployment insurance

This is a good question. There are times when you are eligible for unemployment when you have to resign from your employment for moving. I suggest you go on line to the website for unemployment insurance and review the guidelines to see if it matches your situation, as I do not know much about your matter.

Best of luck.

Generally, the EDD in California allows employees to collect benefits when they have to quit their job due to a relocation. Other states may view your situation differently. But you should be able to file your claim in California, as long as you are looking for work in the state you move to.

You can find the EDD website at wwwedd.cahwnet.gov/
