unemployment for strike/lockout

I work for the grocery co. we are on lockout, and I am gettig conflicting answers to whether I am eligable for unemployment bennefits. I was locked out. I can't work even if I wanted to. shouldn't I be able to collect ''my money'' that I have been paying into for 16 years? The strike was against 1 and the other employers locked the other 2 company's members out. Thanks

Unemployment Code Section 1262 generally provides that you are ineligible for benefits if you stop work because of a trade dispute. Howver, since you were locked out, you may have a valid claim since you did not voluntarily stop working. You should file an unemployment claim as soon as possible and make a strong argument regarding the lockout.
